Job overview

We are currently looking to appoint an Administrator for Children in Care to work in The Den within the Family Care Division. 

The successful candidate must be customer focused, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Monday - Friday (the specific working hours will be agreed with the successful candidate).

Excellent organisational skills and an ability to work under pressure are essential requirements together with great attention to detail for ensuring data is recorded accurately onto the patient administration system to manage the booking of designated follow up clinics after discharge.

To be successful in this role you will possess excellent interpersonal and IT skills, GCSE Maths and English grade A–C (or equivalent) and have relevant office/secretarial experience.   You must have effective communication skills and be adaptable to meet the service needs.

Knowledge of medical terminology, customer care and previous NHS experience are also desirable.

Main duties of the job

The main emphasis of this role is to provide a comprehensive and courteous clerical service to the Children in Care Team.

Duties will include answering telephone calls and emails in a prompt and courteous manner, admitting, discharging or transferring patients within the Children in Care Service, ensuring health information for children in care is shared appropriately with Derbyshire County Council and/or other health providers, and co-ordinating the booking of health assessments as required and recording accurate and timely outcomes of appointments.
