Job overview
We are looking for an experienced physiotherapist to join the acute medical physiotherapy team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. This proactive team covers many speciality wards including cardiorespiratory, haematology, endocrinology, gastroenterology and care of the elderly. We also cover the respiratory caseload on the Children's ward and provide respiratory care and rehabilitation on the 5 bedded respiratory support unit as required.
We are a friendly physiotherapy team who strive to provide excellent patient care with compassion, dignity and respect.
We are seeking applicants with some experience working within the acute setting. You must have up to date knowledge and experience of current developments and drivers within the wider healthcare setting, specifically around discharge planning.
The Trust is committed to supporting and developing staff through appraisals and the supervision process. Senior staff have individual supervision and peer support as well as access to training.
The Trust provides clinical placements for students from Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham and the successful applicant will have experience of supervising under-graduate students.
Main duties of the job

To manage autonomously, a complex inpatient caseload requiring Physiotherapy and selective Occupational Therapy assessments on dedicated medical wards.
To be responsible for Training, Supervision and Appraisals of more junior staff.
To participate in the 7 day service to the medical, surgical and critical care wards and the emergency on-call respiratory service.
To work with the Head of Physiotherapy and other senior physiotherapy colleagues to monitor, evaluate and develop existing services in Medicine and Acute care in line with the changing needs of the Trust.
