Job overview

We are looking for an experienced leader to join the team as Service Manager for our Imaging and Cancer Services.

 

Main duties of the job

You will work with our clinical teams across Imaging and Cancer Services, leading and supporting our teams to transform and deliver services for our patients.  You will provide day to day operational support to our Imaging and Cancer Services Care Units, supporting our clinical teams to deliver the best possible care to our patients.  You will work closely with the Improvement team and Performance team to deliver improvements in both Imaging and Cancer care across the Trust.  The role will support the Lead Cancer Clinician, Lead Cancer Nurse, Head of Imaging and General Manager to manage projects, implement initiatives and drive forward changes.  The Service Manager will also provide some operational support to the wider division and deputise for the General Manager when necessary.

Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria
  • Masters degree or equivalent experience Specialty specific registration appropriate to role
Desirable criteria
  • Formal management qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Financial management Budget management experience
  • Proven track record of managing complex change whilst developing and maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Involvement at a leadership level on issues relating to quality governance, monitoring and standard setting
  • Experience of senior management and leadership of operational teams.
  • Experience of line management
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of service re-design

Skills and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Ability to communicate, both written and verbally, in a manner which is clear, fluent and persuasive.
  • Effective negotiating, influencing and networking skills
  • Ability to oversee and interpret performance targets
  • Competent use of IT systems to produce regular reports
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of service re-design
