Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join optical services.  

You will work within this amazing division with a supportive Divisional Leadership team to assist the Department Leader to provide excellent care for the patients on the ward and supporting the staff through excellent management and clinical skills.

Main duties of the job

The role is a clinical band 6/ Band 5 dependant on experience, ensuring care for patients is of the highest standard, incidents are reported and learned from, and staff are supported.

We like to develop our staff, so there are lots of opportunities in this role to be able to broaden your knowledge, learn new skills, take on more responsibility, gain new qualifications and to continue or to progress your nursing career.

Qualifications & Training

Essential criteria
  • Degree in Orthoptics
  • Registration with the HCPC
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of further learning in specific areas i.e.. Clinical Tutor certificates.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years recent/ongoing experience in Surgical nursing
  • Evidence of achievements in previous role

  • Experience managing people
