NHS Medical & Dental: Specialty Registrar

Job overview

We are looking for an HST equivalent level doctor to join our Trauma & Orthopaedic team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

This essential role will provide the opportunity for the post holder to develop further surgical skills and competencies.  You will work under the direction and supervision of our Orthopaedic Consultants at middle grade level to deliver a high-quality service to our patients, as well as providing support to junior colleagues and nursing staff as required. You will be responsible for clinic activity, first assistant and operating surgeon in theatre and middle grade cover responsibilities on call.

We can offer training opportunities in both emergency and elective surgery.  Some aspects of the role can be made bespoke to the individual needs of the post-holder and tailored to take account of previous relevant experience, or achievement of requirements for application to specialty training.

Out of hours duties will require participation in a full shift rota. We run a 9 week rolling rota pattern.

There will be the opportunity to participate in teaching, audit, guideline development and service improvement projects.

We will also provide support to help you develop a portfolio in line with Royal College recommendations for those who want to evidence their role and training in this way

Please be advised that this post is to start from as soon as possible and as such you must be available as soon as your employment clearances have been received.
