An exciting opportunity has arisen within our supportive, well established & high performing Acute Care Unit administration team. 

The Acute Care Unit Administration team

Contributes to the delivery of outstanding patient care by:

 

·         Maintaining a professional image.

·         Providing efficient administration support to the Care Unit.

·         Liaising with patients, outside agencies and other services / departments within the Trust in a professional manner.

·         Working effectively as a team using good communication and problem-solving skills.

·         Always maintaining confidentiality.

 

 

Main duties of the job

The role of  Clinical Administration Officers (CAOs) provide a range of administrative support services to a group of consultant medical staff and/or other senior members of Division teams. They are expected to have advanced skills commensurate with their responsibilities. They will work substantially independently, providing support of the highest quality, and taking leadership in their professional areas.

Our new Urgent and Emergency Care Department opened in Summer 2023 and has been designed to give the best possible care to patients. The £27m department, which is based in a state-of-the-art was operationally opened on 21 June 2023, and officially opened on 12 July.

  • Educated to GCSE grade C or above standard
Desirable criteria
  • RSA III keyboard skills or equivalent
  • HNC/HND Qualification or equivalent.

Experience

  • Experience of working in a secretarial role

  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Minute taking
Desirable criteria
  • Previous NHS experience
