Positive and Safe Clinical Lead  for Derbyshire Community Health Service and Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trusts

The post holder will be part of the Positive and Safe Team, providing support and training  for two NHS trusts within Derbyshire. 

The Team works hard to reduce restrictions in mental health settings and deliver high quality training and care.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • To provide advice to clinical and operational services to improve services.
  • To be an ambassador and positive role model to others within restrictive practices and restraint reduction.
  • Lead on Datix Meetings to identify areas of good practice and areas of need within clinical areas.
  • Support the Positive and Safe Team with new projects and management/leadership of projects.
  • Mentor new staff within the team.
  • Support the role of the Positive & Safe Practice Lead.
  • Provide cover and support to the Positive and Safe Team when the Practice Lead is on leave.
  • Facilitate reflection through learning to improve patient care.
  • Create a positive learning environment, offering support and guidance to all learners.
  • Ensure the team utilises a variety of teaching and assessment strategies to meet all learning styles.
  • Ensure the team utilises information technology systems in the design and delivery of education programmes, including e-learning, simulation, and virtual learning technologies.
  • To promote the awareness of recovery focused practice.
  • Ensuring all relevant systems are up to date.
  • Ensure the implementation of national guidance and initiatives across the two trusts.
  • To provide cover for other training as appropriate to the role.

Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.

We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people’s own homes and via virtual consultations.

During the pandemic response we have led the implementation of public vaccination centres in collaboration with partners across health and social care.

We deliver education to a diverse group of staff across both DCHS and DHCFT, both virtually and face-to-face.

We aim to create innovate ways to deliver education whilst maintaining the highest level of standards to our staff.
