Payroll Assistant

DSFS Grade A

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the DSFS Payroll team as a Payroll Assistant. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic team player who is pro-active, has great organisational skills and can also demonstrate excellent attention to detail.

This could be a full-time or part-time role and we’re happy to discuss different flexible-working options with prospective candidates.

As the Payroll Assistant you will be working as part of the wider Payroll team, within the Finance department, to support payroll and pension services for Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Derbyshire Support and Facilities Services Ltd. Whilst an understanding of Payroll would be desirable, this is not essential if you have the right ‘can do’ attitude and administrative skills.

Main duties of the job

  • General day-to-day office duties, including filing and management and distribution of post
  • Accurate and timely data entry across payroll and pension systems
  • Responding to inbox and telephone queries related to payroll in a timely and professional manner
  • Supporting payroll processing and reporting, in line with the monthly deadlines
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth payroll operations
  • Maintaining confidentiality and compliance with data protection standards
  • Carry out other administrative and payroll duties as may be required, to support the wider team
  • To be one of the first points of contact for email and telephone payroll queries, ensuring these are directed to the right people and in a timely manner

Working for our organisation
