Trosolwg o'r swydd

We welcome applications to join our growing perinatal psychology team, who are passionate about the care we provide to the people we work with and the support we provide to each other and the wider team.

The opening is for a Band 7/8a Clinical Psychologist (1.0 WTE), which involves providing individual and systemic support to women/birthing people and their families within the south of Derbyshire and the Mother and Baby inpatient unit in Derby.

Within the perinatal/maternal mental health speciality we work with mental health difficulties around the transition to motherhood, including attachment difficulties, trauma and loss, tokophobia, puerperal psychosis as well as mood and anxiety presentations.

There will be opportunities to train within EMDR and CFT, provide supervision and consultancy, deliver training, attend workshops and annual forums, be involved in service development and develop an area of specialist interest and one’s own style of working.

All candidates should be registered with the HCPC, eligible for BPS Chartered Status, meet the travel requirements, and have an interest in working with trauma, grief and perinatal presentations. A welcoming team and glorious countryside awaits.

The service consists of a 6-bed inpatient unit, a community team with bases in Derby and Chesterfield, and a new maternal mental health service working with loss (MMHS).

The inpatient and community services are accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists, highlighting the excellent and specialized care provided by the service. The MMHS sits within the perinatal service and has close links with maternity services.

The team includes psychiatrists, psychologists, CPNs, nursery nurses, OTs, team leads, specialist midwives, a social worker, and a service manager, who all possess great enthusiasm and a strong passion for working with women and their families during the perinatal period.

The Trust psychology department facilitates specialized supervision (dissociation, psychodynamic, EMDR, CFT) and training (trauma, CBT), supports CPD, and has good links with university training courses in terms of teaching opportunities, trainee selection and placements. DHCFT goes above and beyond to ensure staff are looked after and feel supported.
