Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity to invite a band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our innovative  inpatient mental health team.

You will bring your skills and experience in managing eating, drinking, swallowing and communication difficulties to support patients on our older adult and working age adult wards in Derbyshire.

Regular clinical and managerial supervision and opportunities for joint work and shadowing are available to ensure a supportive environment in which you can thrive personally and professionally.

Experience of working within mental health would be beneficial. However, the role would also suit SLTs who have experience with older adult, acute or neurodevelopmental caseloads as you will be supported to develop your skills in this specialist clinical area.

Working across our hospital sites in Derbyshire is essential to the role so appointable candidates must be able to travel independently.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Please see the attached job description and person specification for more details about the role.

Please feel free to make contact for an informal discussion regarding the role.

As an employer and sponsor licence holder, to be able to provide sponsorship to overseas nationals via the Skilled Worker route we must ensure that we adhere to the sponsorship requirements set by UK Visa’s and Immigration. Please note that as the current salary threshold is £25,000 it is unlikely we will be able to offer sponsorship for this post as without 2 years previous NHS Service at Band 3 you will commence at the bottom of the pay band which currently does not meet the minimum salary requirement for sponsorship (bank and agency service is excluded). This would apply to anyone who has current time limited right to work in the UK and would require sponsorship in the near future commencing at the bottom of the band. For details on eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa, please follow this link to the gov.uk website Skilled Worker visa: Overview - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
