Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a new community adult dietitian to join our dietetic team at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital, part of University Hospitals of Derby and Burton(UHDB).  This post is part time and can offer flexible working to suit the successful candidate.    

We are looking for a dietitian ready to step up to a specialist role, offering more advanced care and working autonomously in delivering expert dietetic advice.  You will be part of a talented, patient driven team to enhance service provision for patients in the community, move the service onwards in line with the digital objectives of the Trust and instigate along with the wider team, new and exciting ways of delivering community dietetic care. 

The position will have a significant focus on rehabilitation and will encompass the provision of dietetic services to the in-patient neuro and stroke rehab wards at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital.

 

Main duties of the job

Although based within our community team, you will  have links with the dietitians in the acute hospitals at Royal Derby Hospital and Queens Hospital Burton.  You will be part of departmental meetings and contribute to the engagement of all of the dietetic teams working across the five sites.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • HCPC Registration
  • Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics
Desirable criteria
  • Member of British Dietetic Association

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrable knowledge of working with a range of medical conditions requiring dietetic input

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience as a band 5 dietitian covering a wide range of clinical conditions
  • Experience in delivering student training.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working with vulnerable patients in their own homes
  • Experience of enteral tube feeding.

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Variety of IT packages
Desirable criteria
  • Car driver with access to a car
