An exciting opportunity has arisen for a confident highly motivated and inspirational Senior Nurse to join our Neonatal department to support the Divisional Nurse Director and Neonatal Lead Nurse in delivery of the neonatal elements of the Maternity Incentive Scheme and the Maternity and Neonatal Improvement Programme, as well as  working alongside the current Neonatal Matron in influencing and working with the multidisciplinary and management teams and leading the Nursing workforce to provide a quality service essential to a positive patient experience. You must possess strong leadership qualities and have a passion to foster a culture which values the delivery of high-quality care for Neonates.

As a professional lead you will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational skills as well as leading, supporting education, ensuring clinical quality standards are achieved and influencing and leading change.

Your key role will be to ensure quality and safety standards are achieved by providing inspirational and visible clinical leadership to the nursing teams. The role is based within an acute hospital setting but requires you to work across the neonatal network and with system partners.

To carry out this role, you will provide leadership and direction and will be expected to have experience of managing operational and workforce issues. This role will support the current Matron in the overall day-to-day responsibility, provide visible leadership for the nursing teams whilst ensuring efficient and effective management of complex operational and professional issues to ensure high quality, safe care, and patient experience. 

The successful candidate will be required to have a good understanding of neonatal services, including the requirements of the Maternity Incentive Scheme and be able to demonstrate the ability to work across business units forging strong links with colleagues in maternity services. 

We are looking for proven clinical experience and a passionate, committed, flexible and enthusiastic individual who can lead in delivering high quality patient care, who is equipped with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.

The post does involve cross-site working at all UHDB Hospitals and provides an excellent career development for aspiring Senior Nurses who are looking to strengthen their leadership and management experience and professional portfolio.
