Here’s more about the role and what we’re looking for;

This post is offered as a Band 7.

"The most rewarding job I have ever had" - "Every day I learn something new" - "To be able to make a positive impact on patient care is amazing" - "The Chief Executive complimented our team and what we did, speechless"

These are just some of the statements made by our team members. We make a real and significant difference where success is measured by Quality outcomes and not just price or cost.  We also have challenging comments made also keeping us grounded.

We are now able to offer a rare opportunity to join our busy team.

We are looking to recruit a positive, dynamic, forward thinking Procurement Professional where the only barrier is your own willingness and drive to succeed.

The team has already concluded a number of contract "firsts" for the NHS which has been replicated by others and continue to develop solutions for its stakeholders and we hope to achieve many more with your help.

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join our small, well established and respected procurement team. The East Midlands Pharmacy Collaborative (EMPC) is a professional team providing a Procurement service for its member Trusts hosted by Royal Derby Hospitals. We improve the quality of patient care in the NHS through the provision of a high quality procurement service to Trusts mainly based in and around the East Midlands.

We maximise the efficiency of our service through the use of electronic tendering processes, high stakeholder engagement, effective procurement and an active contract management plan that meets or exceeds stakeholder’s requirements.

As a pharmacy lead, patient outcomes team, we consult with a number of stakeholders from our member Trusts to ensure our services meet or exceed stated needs. We are then able to procure the products and services required by our members of the requisite standard.

We are looking to appoint a Category Manager to join our team to enable us to continue to achieve our existing high levels of stakeholder satisfaction. You will have responsibility for the running of complex tenders, contract management of a number of contracts; ensuring that changes to contract are negotiated effectively and formal change control takes place efficiently. You will lead in a number of regional or cross regional tenders on behalf of the stakeholders. You will also undertake often complex day to day administration tasks whilst balancing a number of projects. The team is undergoing a period of change and an experienced Category Manager has the potential to place their stamp on this team and make a huge  impact as we continue to learn and improve facing many challenges on the way.

You will also have excellent communication and management skills, educated to a HNC or degree level in a business or related subject and/or working towards CIPS. You will be a team player and also a team leader and be expected to organise and prioritise your workload and use your initiative.

So have you got what it takes??

Closing date of applications 29 March 2019

Interview date will be 12 April 2019
