We are looking for a clinical services manager to oversee the operational management of 2 Urgent Treatment Centres in Derbyshire, playing an important role in delivering safe effective urgent care on day.
Supporting the wider care system working with experienced clinical professionals in emergency and urgent care presentations.
The units are based in the South of the county at Ilkeston and Ripley, seeing a diverse range of injuries, illness, adults and children. There are 4 UTCs in total spread across the length of Derbyshire with many borders challenging pathways.
This role will cross cover the other 2 when required in absences The service overall sees over 100 thousand patients a year, the larger proportion in the south units.
The role is to oversee the 2 units with their own managers, operationally supporting consistent service delivery to high clinical standards as the national Urgent and Emergency Care Standards.
You will bring a breadth of skills and ideas to support the developing PCN links, spotting opportunities to work closer with external partners.
Main duties of the job
Service delivery of 7 days, with financial responsibility of the budgets.
Recruitment of new workforce whilst focussing on retention of existing staff.
Developing a workforce plan with your Operational peer, General Manager and ACP clinical leaders.
Delivering against key metrics and annual plans.
Clinically supporting service delivery 2 days per week maximum , maintaining a current clinical expertise .
Contributing to HR management, seeking staff and patient feedback to form an engaged workforce and shape the future of the units within the PCN arena.
Attending relevant governance meetings, leading team meetings, and chairing where necessary.
Deputising for GM, undertake appraisals, implementing e job plans and any other senior operational requirements within reason.

Managing 2 UTCs, reporting to GM for Inpatients and Urgent Treatment centres
Ensuring robust operational service delivery and proactively manage escalation , business continuity anticipation , maintaining all clinical and professional standards are adhered to with colleagues from the Quality directorate and HR teams.
Keeping within budget, by developing a reactive responsive workforce of bank staff to mobilise rapidly.
Horizon scanning and networking are key skills to bring to the role .
