Band 7, Contract Manager, 1 WTE, 12 Month Maternity Cover Secondment
We’re delighted to offer an excellent opportunity for a Band 7 Contract Manager to join our friendly and supportive team on a 12-month secondment to cover maternity leave.
Devon Integrated Care Board (ICB) is currently embarking on a significant period of transformation as we move towards a clustering arrangement with NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly (CIoS) ICB. It’s a critical time for both organisations as we navigate this transition, making it an exciting and pivotal moment to join our team.
As a Contract Manager, you will take the lead on managing complex healthcare contract portfolios, working closely with internal and external partners to ensure high-quality, value-for-money services that meet the needs of local populations; at the heart of shaping healthcare for our community, taking the lead in planning, managing, and delivering a diverse range of contracts that underpin essential NHS services.
You’ll be the go-to expert for colleagues in Commissioning, Finance, Patient Safety & Quality, and Performance, leading with specialist advice to ensure every contract not only meets regulatory standards but also empowers patient choice and drives service excellence.
Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
Your days will be varied and rewarding, leading on your own portfolio of contracts, guiding negotiations, and building strong relationships with both internal teams and external partners. You’ll thrive on the challenge of navigating complex communications and finding solutions that benefit patients and providers alike. Your commitment to championing best practice will be key to our continuous improvement, as you help us deliver on our promises to NHS England and our local community. By working collaboratively within a supportive, multidisciplinary team, you’ll make a real impact raising standards, sharing knowledge, and helping to ensure that healthcare in Devon is the very best it can be.
We are looking for someone who is not only organised and detail-oriented but also driven by a genuine desire to contribute to the future of healthcare.
We understand the importance of flexibility and work-life balance, which is why we offer hybrid work arrangements for this role. You’ll have the opportunity to work remotely for part of the week, while spending a couple of days in our welcoming office at Aperture House, Exeter. This approach allows you to collaborate in person with your team, while also providing the flexibility to manage your work in a way that suits you best.

NHS Devon Integrated Care System
As an Integrated Care System (ICS), we recognise now more than ever that we can only provide the care that people really need by working together. Together for Devon therefore represents a partnership where health and care services work together with local communities to improve peoples health, wellbeing and care. It aims to transform health and care services so they are clinically, socially and financially sustainable.
Our vision is simple: equal chances for everyone in Devon to lead long, happy and healthy lives. To achieve this, we have set out six ambitions for the next five years that will help us transform services including: Effective and efficient care, embedding the Integrated Care Model, the Devon deal (a citizen-led approach to health and care), Children and young people, Digital Devon and ensuring Equality.
