This is an exciting part time role for an MRI Safety Lead Practitioner / Radiographer with excellent organisational skills to oversee and facilitate the process of prioritising, triaging, and investigating MR Safety scanning conditions for patients with implants.

The number of patients with implants requiring an MRI is increasing and this is an opportunity for a practitioner / radiographer with suitable experience to take a lead role to ensure the efficient and timely running of the implant safety service. The role is key in the effective delivery and performance of the service including PTL waiting list management and departmental KPI targets. The post holder will work closely with the MRI Physics and MRI Radiographer teams and be fully supported by MR Safety Experts and Senior Radiographers.

The post holder will provide training to Radiographers in implant safety and will be responsible for data quality audit.

Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge and experience of implant safety in MRI, or a background in Medical Physics. Applicants with less experience are also welcome and will be given training and support.

Main duties of the job

To act as Lead MRI Radiographer for implant safety, working with the MRI Physics team and Radiographers, Bookings and other staff / teams.

·       The role is to oversee and coordinate the process of implant safety investigations from start to finish, prioritising incoming requests and triaging tasks to the appropriate teams.

·       To carry out routine implant safety investigations in line with departmental protocols, and to support the MRI Physics team for non-routine / complex investigations.

·       To provide training to Radiographers in implant safety investigations in line with DOPs.

·       To carry out clinical audits of safety information recorded on CRIS

·       To support the effective delivery and operations of the department including PTL waiting list management and departmental KPI targets.

·       To adhere to the current MHRA guidelines and work safely within the health and safety regulations.

·       To supervise Admin staff supporting the implant safety service and provide guidance and support to junior members of staff & students.

***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***
