Job overview
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed individual to work within the ENT & Audiology service line as an admissions officer. The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive admissions service to the ENT Consultants.

Main duties of the job
To schedule operations ensuring that an efficient, timely and patient focussed service is provided and the clinical needs of patients are met in accordance with the current NHS timeframes.
This demanding role will require excellent time management and organisational skills. The successful candidate must be able to prioritise their own workload and will require a flexible approach to their duties.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. Manage the PTL selecting patients for admission on the basis of clinical priority determined by the medical teams and chronological waiting list time.
2. Making sure the PTL is up to date with relevant p-codes and priority codes, if not then get that information from letters or directly from consultants in a timely manner
3. Sending theatre lists to consultants in advanced to make sure they are happy with timings and the order of patients on the list (amend if necessary)
4. Attending weekly huddles with consultants, secretaries and other members of staff to discuss patients
5. Make the best use of theatre times
6. Booking 23 hour, ITU, bariatric and different level beds depending on the patient needs
7. Ensuring any relevant investigations or pre-assessment appointments are booked, organising transport where necessary for the patients admission.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
- • Previous clerical demonstrable experience
- • Previous demonstrable experience of waiting list management or management of complex data.
- • Demonstrate ability to use all main software packages
Desirable criteria
- • Managing PTL’s
- • Proven knowledge of RTT pathway & RTT codes
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- • A-C grade GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent.
- • NVQ level 3 or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- NVQ level 4

- • Ability to communicate at all levels.
