Job overview

To provide efficient co-ordination of Children’s hearing services, maintaining pathways and providing evidence of strict adherence to safeguarding policies and procedures for children and young people.

***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***

Main duties of the job

To provide administrative support for the Paediatric Audiology service by working closely with the Paediatric Audiology team to safeguard children and young people. To maintain effective pathways, be the central point of contact for all users of the service and to promote the principals of Family friendly hearing services for children/parents.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
  • NVQ 2 in Business administration or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • OCR Typing qualification or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria
  • Good communication skills
  • Demonstrable clerical experience
  • Good working knowledge of a large clinical setting's systems
  • Experience in working with the general public
  • Demonstrable use of IT packages Microsoft office (word, excel, Access, PowerPoint)or equivalent
  • Able to work in a team
  • Excellent Organisational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
Desirable criteria
  • Deaf awareness training
  • Knowledge of NHS iPM system/Auditbase
  • Taking of minutes

APTITUDE & ABILITIES
