Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Learning & Organisational Development team as an apprentice at Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust. The post is 37.5 hours a week working Monday to Friday.

We are looking for a full-time  Apprentice to join our busy Learning & OD Team providing administrative support to the Team. This role will provide a unique opportunity to gain varied administration experience in a demanding yet stimulating and rewarding environment, including to provide a good customer service support.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, self-motivated, reliable, well organised, take pride and ownership in your contribution, have excellent attention to detail.

The ideal candidate must have a flexible ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to use own initiative with excellent communication skills.

***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***

Main duties of the job

TO BE TRAINED IN: Providing day to day customer service to the Learning and Organisational Development Team clients, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of administrative tasks in support of the departmental work plans.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

In this apprenticeship role you will be trained to: ·

  • 1.    Assisting the Administrator to support with the efficient running of the Learning & Organisational Development administrative function and to undertake additional workstreams as required.
    2.    Monitoring the Learning & Organisational Development training inbox and responding according to queries relating to Learning & Organisational Development training, for example, booking candidates on to training accordingly, sending joining instructions and recording training on ESR/OLM.
    3.    Carrying out administration tasks as required, to include photocopying, filling, collating information and collating reports.
    4.    Assisting with the marketing of Learning and Organisational development activity including maintaining and updating SharePoint Learning & Organisational Development Training Page.
    5.    Preparing Learning from Excellence cards as part of ongoing Employee Engagement work. 
    6.    Booking rooms for Learning & Organisational Development training/meetings as required.
    7.    Supporting the scheduling of meetings, appointments, and events with OD Leads and stakeholders.
    8.    Utilising various methods of communication for example email, telephone & Teams as required.
    9.    Will complete staff surveys and assist in providing information required for Learning & Organisational Development audits.
    10.     Mainly desk and office based for the majority of working time.
