Job overview
This is an exciting time for Neurophysiology! We are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to provide administrative support to the Neurophysiology team. Applicants must be educated to good GCSE level or have equivalent qualifications in Maths and English and good IT skills. An interest in working within a Team and in a Healthcare environment is desirable as is the wish to utilise and improve your administration skills.
The successful applicant will be well motivated and have good communication skills, both face-to-face and on the telephone.
You will be working in a busy office, and will be given the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in a variety of administration skills.
We will provide you with all the training and ongoing support you require to enable you to use the systems and processes already set up within the department. We will expect that you can demonstrate good team-working, interpersonal skills and IT skills.
This is a full-time post (37.5 hrs/week), working hours are Monday – Friday 0800-1600
***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***
Main duties of the job
To provide office management support to the Neurophysiology administration team:
- Printing referrals from Inbox
- Inputting referrals/WL
- Reception duties
- Booking appointments/telephoning patients
- Inputting names/hospital numbers into machines
- Requesting and Tracing Notes when necessary
- Prepping clinics
- General Filing
- Take appropriate actions with regard to telephone calls from patients, GPs and other agencies using initiative, in adherence to Trust guidelines
- Opening the post
- Distribution of notes received
- General administration and support for the consultants/physiologists

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to good GCSE level A-C/ 4-9 or have equivalent qualifications in Maths and English and good IT skills OR equivalent demonstrable experience
Attitude
