Job overview

SDH Developments Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary company of Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, provides pharmacy services to patients and visitors attending the Outpatients Department at Torbay Hospital. These services continue to develop, and we are now looking for an pharmacy technician who is either already qualified as or prepared to train as an accuracy checking technician to join our team.

In this role you will dispense medicines for patients. In addition, you will undertake related duties including ordering and receipt of stock, and be involved in the provision of an efficient and effective ‘front of house’ service for customers, including the sale of medicines.  Accuracy Checking Technicians will also be required to undertake a final accuracy check on prescriptions.

You will be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. You will have excellent communication, organisational and customer service skills, and be an effective team player.

Main duties of the job

As an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician you will dispense medicines for patients.

In addition, you will undertake related duties including ordering and receipt of stock, and be involved in the provision of an efficient and effective ‘front of house’ service for customers, including the sale of medicines. You will also need to provide support in the day to day operation of the pharmacy.

Accuracy Checking Technicians will also be required to undertake a final accuracy check on prescriptions.

  • Accuracy Checking Technician qualification
