Integrated Therapy Postural Management Practitioner

NHS AfC: Band 4

We are currently recruiting for the role of a Band 4 Integrated Therapy Postural Management Practitioner. 

The primary function of this role is to provide a high standard of care to children with complex disability requiring 24 hour postural management approaches as well as delivering groups and individual physiotherapy programs for other paediatric pathways.

You will be based at one of the special school bases, with some time spent at John Parkes Unit and in the community.

  • Coordinate postural management assessment and reviews and to prioritise and arrange clinics including the Cerebral Palsy Integrated Pathway.
  • Input data into postural management databases.
  • Undertake delegated assessment and ordering of postural management equipment. To organise a planned review and adjustment of equipment for children on postural management care pathway.
  • Delivering both individual and group physiotherapy and physiotherapy interventions including hydrotherapy.

Qualifications

  • Foundation Degree (FdSc in Healthcare Practice (Nursing Associate)
  • Good standard of education to GCSE Grade C in Maths, English and Science (or equivalent)

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Excellent personal communication skills and child friendly communication and play skills
  • Flexible and adaptable approach
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player under appropriate supervision, and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Accurate/competent IT skills
  • Ability to respect confidentiality and deal with matters of a sensitive nature
  • Proven experience in a similar or healthcare role within a hospital/acute environment
  • Experience supporting people with a disability

  • Previous physiotherapy/occupational therapy support work
  • Knowledge of disability, therapy approaches or healthcare
