GPwSI Dermatology

NHS Medical & Dental: Salaried GP

Job overview

The Dorset Healthcare Community based Dermatology Service provides an assessment, diagnostic and treatment service in a range of community locations across Dorset.   We are currently looking to recruit a GPwER or GP with a Special Interest in Dermatology to cover a minimum of 1 session per week.

Outpatient Assessment Medical sessions will be paid at £222.00 per session and Minor Ops Surgical sessions at £370.00 per session

Main duties of the job

Whilst predominantly a GPwER service we are currently welcoming applicants who have experience of secondary care dermatology provision as we seek to build upon on relationships with acute partners to improve patient pathways.

The role includes providing a safe, high quality based care for patients within the Community setting and be able to have full confidence in working on their own initiative and also be able to work as part of a Team consisting of other Clinicians and Administrative staff. We seek a clinician able to undertake both medical management as well as minor surgery for Dermatology.

A Health Care Assistant will be present to assist during each clinic.

Our aim is to deliver a high quality dermatology service within a community setting, improve patient choice, reduce waiting times, improve education in primary care and to reduce inappropriate referrals to secondary care.

You will need to have a Diploma in Dermatology as well as some experience of delivering Dermatology clinics beyond that of General Practice. You will be supported to seek mentorship arrangements with a secondary care consultant and will be required to be flexible to enable this to happen.
