Job overview
This post is suitable for a ST3+ level interested in gaining experience in medical education and research. One day a week will be dedicated for education and research opportunities, there will be a fixed once a week caesarean section list, the remainder of the week will be general rota where there are opportunities for advanced training.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- MB BS
- MRCOG part 1
Desirable criteria
- Additional post graduate qualification
- ST3-5 or above
- Post graduate certificate in medical education
Experience
Essential criteria
- Broad spectrum of Obstetric and Gynaecology experience
- Minimum 12 months in the NHS
- Previous involvement in undergraduate teaching
Desirable criteria
- Research experience and publications
- Training the trainer course
- Experience of small and large group teaching
- Strong interest in education and research
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Compliant with RCOG CPD
- Ability to undertake procedures in an independent environment
Desirable criteria
- good clinical practice
Research and Education
Essential criteria
- Understand the principles of research methodology
- Demonstrate various teaching stratergies
Desirable criteria
- Publication in medical journals
