Job overview
The colorectal unit at UHD is nationally renowned for minimally invasive colorectal cancer surgery, pelvic floor surgery, specialist pelvic endometriosis surgery (delivered jointly with the gynaecologists) and advanced proctology (laser, HRA). The appointee will be expected to deliver independent specialised care across the breadth of colorectal and general surgery according to the needs of the service but will be expected to focus on delivering the pelvic floor pathway and supporting the advanced proctology service.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- • Full GMC registration • FRCS General Surgery • CCT in General Surgery or within 6 months or CESR
Desirable criteria
- Higher Degree JAG accreditation in colonoscopy

- • Evidence of experience in the specialty
Desirable criteria
- • Additional training/skills/ interest in the following areas o robotic surgery o Pelvic floor surgery o Advanced proctology
Management & Administration experience

- • Involvement with management and project leadership within the specialty

- • Proven management and administrative experience and understanding of management goals
