Job overview
We are looking to recruit a Senior Digital Change Manager on a fixed team basis to join our growing digital transformation team to help deliver several significant digital change programmes.
The post holder will develop change management plans, define & shape change initiatives, integrate change management into digital workstreams, and to ensure successful delivery and adoption of large-scale digitally enabled change. This will include identifying opportunities for digital change, facilitating the design of 'to be' processes enabled by digital interventions, and delivering the benefits and outcomes enabled by digital transformation.
The successful candidate will be a passionate 'change agent' who has a track record of delivering improvement or change projects. A working knowledge of health care services and/or of delivering digital change in a complex environment is desirable.

Main duties of the job
The Senior Digital Change Manager role will have a primary focus on:
- Facilitating the business and operational changes resulting from digital transformation.
- Maximizing employee adoption of change.
- Engaging with clinical and operational colleagues to plan successful change initiatives.
- Promoting a digital culture across the Trust.
- Establishing a network to communicate changes.
- Cultivating digital change champions.
- Providing exceptional customer service.
The post holder will be responsible for creating and implementing change management plans that maximise employee adoption and overcome barriers to change, in the delivery of numerous work programmes which contribute to the Trust's strategic ambitions.
The Senior Digital Change Manager will work with Trust staff of all grades and professions, establishing effective networks with those impacted by change using motivational skills to encourage collaborative working to improve services through changes to practice.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and abilities:

Education, Qualifications, and Training
Essential criteria
- Qualified to Masters’ Degree level or equivalent experience
- Qualification at NVQ Level 4/5 or significant training and experience in at least one of: • Healthcare systems/operational management, or • Healthcare information management or digital services, or • Project or change management methodology. Relevant qualification, e.g. one of: o Change Management Institute ACMF (Accredited Change Manager Foundation) or equivalent experience (could include QSIR), or, o Lean six sigma, or o PRINCE2 Foundation level qualification, Agile qualifications.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of managing, implementing, facilitating, and monitoring multiple change initiatives, ideally within a health care environment.
- Experience of leading teams within a change environment, including utilising boundary-spanning leadership, coaching, and consensus building skills.
- Either formal or informal experience in project management
- Good understanding of and demonstrable approach to benefits management; proven ability to deliver benefits through change.
- Experience of analysing complex information and communicating this clearly to a wide range of audiences.
- Experience in stakeholder management; has credibility and impact with peers and leaders and is able to gain buy-in to enable change.
- Experience in defining problems, identifying requirements, and appraising options
- Extensive and specialist experience in working with healthcare information systems, ideally with an understanding of systems integration methodologies associated with patient-based information systems.
- Experienced in understanding NHS data and information management
- Experience of developing evidenced-based policies and guidelines
- Knowledge of risk management strategies and clinical governance processes
Desirable criteria
- Specialist organisational, procedural and policy knowledge across a range of different areas related to NHS information and data and healthcare processes.
- Significant and detailed experience in understanding acute hospital patient management processes
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Essential criteria
- Excellent organisational, analytical and judgement skills to provide a rounded and comprehensive support service with effective decision making and prioritisation setting
- Computer literacy and competency in Microsoft Office applications (or equivalent) to a reasonably high level of capability, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Use of initiative including the ability to prioritise, work to tight deadlines and work without supervision
- Proven ability to build effective relationships across organisational and professional boundaries.
- Evidence of effective networking, adapting, and sharing of best practice.
- Able to work under pressure and deal with potentially contentious situations.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to flex to meet changes in business requirements.
- Highly developed communication skills with staff of a range of professional groups and at all levels; able to explain complex technical information to non-technical users
- Skilled at facilitating and leading meetings and workshops with representatives with differing areas of focus or with conflicting requirements/opinions.
- Leadership and management skills, and ability to engage others in changes to create a sense of ownership.
- Excellent interpersonal skills written, verbal and presentational
- Ability to resolve complex problems associated with healthcare information systems and develop new procedures as required
- Ability to negotiate with staff at all levels to agree timelines, ensure task are completed or agree solutions with suppliers.
- Effective planning skills to support resolution of complex issues and participation in new developments.
- Evidence of the tenacity, resilience, and adaptability required to overcome adversity and barriers.
