Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated mammographer to join our team. 

The successful candidate will work alongside the current team to provide imaging for symptomatic, surveillance and interventional clinics.  

Main duties of the job

You will participate in symptomatic, surveillance and interventional clinics as part of this role. Completing essential administrative tasks to support this role. You will be required to work closely with the breast clinic teams as well as the members of the mammography team. 

To have a professional, caring and responsible approach to patients. Work autonomously where needed and as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the wider hospital setting.

Skills and Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of clinical governance and how it relates to Diagnostic Imaging service
  • Evidence of ability to communicate with patients, relatives and all levels of staff through the organisation
  • Ability to facilitate multidisciplinary working
  • Ability to participate in CPD training sessions by delivering training
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to organise and manage the daily running of the specialist area

Education, Qualifications & Training

Essential criteria
  • HCPC registration
  • BSc in Radiography or equivalent qualification
  • Post graduate training in Mammography
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in Mammography

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Considerable postgraduate experience in radiography
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and interest in a speciality area
  • Evidence of participation in clinical governance
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary imaging team
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of training and supervising junior staff and students
  • Evidence of participation in departmental audit
