Job overview

Are you a reporting radiographer looking for a change of scenery and time to focus on reporting?

We are offering an opportunity to come and join our friendly team in beautiful Dorset, providing maternity cover. We would love to hear from any interested, qualified MSK and/or CXR reporters who want to have protected time for reporting.

 

Main duties of the job

  • Autonomous clinical reporting of plain film within scope of practice
  • Provision of autonomous expert opinion to the referring clinicians
  • Provider of clinical knowledge and skills within the area of speciality i.e. plain film radiography
  • Work to the agreed Standard Operating Procedures for Reporting Radiographers and review and update as required
  • Develop and implement protocols and procedures within plain film radiography
  • To facilitate and support CPD and audits
  • To champion current trends and developments in Radiology
  • To provide mentoring for newly qualified Reporting Radiographers
  • To assess clinical competencies of staff and assist their development  
  • To support Diagnostic Imaging in maintaining the Quality Standard for Imaging

Education, Qualifications & Training

Essential criteria
  • BSc Radiography or equivalent Diploma in Radiography
  • HCPC registration
  • PgC/PgD/MSc radiographic reporting qualification
  • Chest, appendicular and axial reporting qualifications
  • Evidence of personal CPD- learning and outcomes

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Substantial experience in this specialist area and extensive clinical experience (minimum 2 + years post graduate experience in radiographic reporting)
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering/organising educational and teaching events
  • Experience of conducting audits and presenting findings to improve service

Skills & Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Competent IT skills
