Job overview

Are you a Registered B5 Nurse looking for an exciting new challenge in a specialised area of nursing?

The Interventional Radiology Nurses are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join the team for a Fixed Term post to cover Maternity Leave.

The Nurses have a vital role within Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology, ensuring safe and effective patient care. The post holder will be involved with the pre, peri and post procedure care of patients undergoing interventional procedures within the Interventional Suite, CT and Ultrasound Departments, whilst having a presence in the department for support of patients where necessary.

The Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology Department at Dorset County Hospital is cohesive, friendly, and forward thinking with a strong bias towards excellent patient care. The Radiology Department has been accredited the UKAS BS 70000 Imaging Services Accreditation Standard for our excellent service and our first GIRFT review was published in 2025.

The hours are 37.5 hours per week to be worked Monday-Friday in core service hours. Please note there is no service overnight or on bank holidays.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate should have excellent communication; this is imperative to our collaborative working within the department and wider trust. The post holder will be required to work as part of a team whilst autonomously within their scope of practice outlined in the job description attached.

Here in Interventional Radiology, we strive for a positive patient experience as much as possible, promoting dignity and respect, while showing empathy and understanding. We support patients through a small part of a wider journey and should understand how their experience reflects the Trust as a whole.

We understand that some applicants may choose to use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to assist in preparing their application materials. While this is not discouraged, we kindly remind candidates that all submissions must be truthful and accurately reflect your own experiences and suitability for this role.
