Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Stroke Data Administrator to join the Stroke Admin Team at Dorset County Hospital.

This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and organised individual. The appropriate candidate would need to have a good telephone manner, experience of audiotyping and use of IT systems in a working environment.

Main duties of the job

  • Manage day to day workload to ensure achievement of all data input and reporting requirements within stated timescales including responsibility for prompting team members to complete any outstanding data items.
  • Inputs data either independently or collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members.
  • Prepares data reports (SSNAP, & TIA) for data quality and team meetings and audit submissions (Information Team, SSNAP) as required.
  • Supports completion of relevant action plans and completes any actions allocated to the post, related to stroke/TIA data
  • Take minutes at any relevant team meetings as required.
  • Maintain and develop patient information, clerical, secretarial and record keeping systems, both paper-based and electronic, in line with established Trust systems, liaising with other department, including Medical Records and Trust Headquarters, where necessary.

Education, Qualifications & Training

Essential criteria
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, including English at Grade C or above
  • Ability to use computer systems for data recording
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Excel

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working within the NHS, community, or voluntary services
  • Experience of working with computer systems, to include Microsoft Office and PAS (data collection, collation, inputting, and extraction from electronic databases.)
  • Experience of working with staff at all levels

Skills & Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of ability to communicate confidently, effectively, professionally, and sensitively both orally and written
  • Evidence of ability to respond quickly to changing priorities in a rapidly changing environment and organising own workload to meet deadlines
  • Evidence of ability to work independently in the context of a team direct supervision within broad procedural guidelines
  • Evidence of ability to exercise judgement when dealing with queries and to analyse/resolve problems
