Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service Duty Manager

Band 6

The 5 July 2023 marked 75 years of the National Health Service. The founding principles remain as relevant, and valued, today as they were 75 years ago. Why not join us and make a difference to be Better Every Day.

Job overview

Be part of something amazing! Dorset Integrated Urgent Care Services provides a streamlined urgent care pathway across the county, to help patients access the advice or treatment they need more quickly and the best use of local NHS resources.

Joining us as a Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service Duty Manager will provide you with a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by working for an organisation dedicated to delivering safe, responsive and patient focused service to people requiring healthcare advice and assistance. The Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Delivered through an innovative and collaborative approach with primary care and Dorset’s NHS Foundation Trusts, the service brings together NHS 111, a new Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service, a single point of access for professionals, urgent care treatment centres and minor injuries units. We are leading the way and establishing new and joined up ways of working right across the Dorset System and we need more clinicians to help us achieve our vision.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced/Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of.  Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

Main duties of the job

To act as a role model providing leadership, support, and day to day management to the teams, facilitating effective working within the team and collaborative working.

To manage staff efficiently and effectively by assisting with the planning, organising, monitoring, directing of Clinical Assessment and Treat functions to ensure the delivery of high-quality care through engaged and motivated employees. The role holder may be the single point of contact for staff for some shifts.

To ensure team members have developmental opportunities and that staff are engaged with and have a full understanding of how they contribute to team and service success.

Ensure effective working relationships with operational staff are maintained and developed accordingly and to lead the teams as part of the Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service management team to ensure operational delivery against national and local performance targets with an emphasis on safe, high quality patient care.
