Job overview

Are you a passionate Clinical Psychologist with a keen interest in neurodevelopmental conditions? Do you thrive in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment where innovation and compassion go hand in hand?

Our service is evolving in line with a new neurodevelopmental pathway — and you’ll be at the heart of shaping its future. Whether it’s refining pathways, co-production with service users, or contributing to our 2 year quality improvement initiative, your voice will matter.

As a Clinical Psychologist within the Adult Diagnostic Service at Dorset HealthCare you will be joining a team transforming lives through expert assessment and collaborative working.

You will be solely accountable for the direct delivery of psychological services to neurodivergent clients, providing highly specialised assessment and formulation, using a range of assessment materials.

Engaging clients, their families and carers, you will be a strong empathic communicator using highly complex and sensitive information where there are often barriers to understanding and acceptance.

As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, committed to equity, inclusion, and continuous learning you will provide specialised advice to other professionals, undertaking clinically relevant research, audit evaluation and supervision.

This is a part time position of 18.75 hrs negotiable up to 30 hours per week

Flexible working across Monday – Friday, requirement to include Tuesdays.

  • Collaborate with professionals across health, education, and social care including Psychiatrists, GPs, Nurses, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers, planning and chairing multi-disciplinary/multi-agency professional and family meetings.
  • Supervision, teaching and training of other healthcare professionals and supporting the research and development activities of Assistants and Trainee Clinical Psychologists.
  • Contribute to service development, audit, evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
