Managing Director - North Tees & Hartlepool Solutions (LLP)
Salary upto £125,000 per annum
North Tees & Hartlepool Solutions is an NHS owned company of North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust. North Tees & Hartlepool Solutions provides a range of Estates, Facilities, Supplies and Procurement services to North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust. The company is a separate legal body to North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust. The successful applicant will be an employee of the subsidiary and not the NHS.
North Tees & Hartlepool Solutions offers its own Terms and Conditions of employment which differ from the national NHS Terms and Conditions. As an employee in the company you will benefit from:

As we continue to develop our hospital group model and strengthen the role of NTH Solutions, we are now seeking an exceptional Managing Director to lead the organisation into its next phase of growth and innovation.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a complex and commercially focused organisation within the NHS, with the autonomy to shape strategy, drive service development and expand its impact both within the Trust and across the wider health and care system.
Reporting to the NTH Solutions Chair and working closely with senior leaders across University Hospitals Tees, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across a diverse portfolio of services, ensuring delivery is efficient, sustainable and aligned to the Group’s priorities.
Beyond operational delivery, the role offers the opportunity to drive innovation, develop new service lines and strengthen partnerships across the region, positioning NTH Solutions as a leading provider of high-quality healthcare support services.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing strategic leadership and overall direction for NTH Solutions LLP
- Developing and delivering a long-term business plan aligned to the University Hospitals Tees strategy
- Leading a large and diverse workforce across estates, facilities, procurement and support services
- Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, efficient and cost-effective services that support patient care
- Driving innovation, sustainability and continuous improvement across all service areas
- Identifying opportunities for growth, income generation and service development
- Managing budgets, contracts and commercial arrangements effectively
- Building strong relationships with Trust leaders, clinical teams, partners and external stakeholders
- Ensuring robust governance, risk management and regulatory compliance
- Providing strategic leadership and oversight for additional LLPs and subsidiary arrangements across University Hospitals Tees as they develop, ensuring alignment with the Group’s wider strategic objectives
You will also play a key role in shaping how support services and subsidiary arrangements are delivered across the hospital group, ensuring they are responsive, modern and aligned to the evolving needs of the organisation.
The Person
We are seeking an outstanding senior leader who can demonstrate:
- Significant senior leadership experience within a complex organisation, ideally within healthcare or a related sector
- A strong track record of strategic leadership, operational delivery and organisational performance
- Commercial acumen, with experience of business development, income generation or managing large-scale service contracts
- Experience leading large-scale operational services within a complex and high-performing organisation
- Strong financial management capability and an understanding of governance and regulatory requirements
- The ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across organisational boundaries
- Experience of leading change, innovation and service transformation
Above all, you will bring the leadership, credibility and strategic insight required to lead a high-performing organisation that plays a critical role in supporting frontline patient care.

- Evidence of continuous professional development, particularly in leadership, governance, or strategic planning

- Postgraduate qualification (e.g. MBA, MSc in Facilities Management, Healthcare Leadership, or Strategic Management)
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IWFM, RICS, CIBSE, or equivalent).
- Formal training in project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP).
- Experience working within or alongside NHS organisations or public sector bodies.
