The company is a separate legal body to North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust. The successful applicant will be an employee of the subsidiary and not the NHS.

Job overview

The successful candidate will be expected to provide high quality service and support to Theatres in relation to all Inventory Management activities.  Working under the supervision of the Trauma and Orthopaedic Supplies Supervisor, the successful candidate will be expected to ensure a smooth logistical flow of goods throughout Theatres and additional areas.

A flexible approach is also essential as there will be a requirement to work at both our North Tees and Hartlepool hospital sites.

The role requires the candidate to have knowledge and experience of stock control, supplies/stores functions and providing excellent levels of customer service. The ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organisation is an essential requirement.

Main duties of the job

To provide a high quality service and support to Theatres in relation to, but not limited to;

Purchase orders

Receipt & Distribution

Implantable device management

General stock management

Stock rotation and managing reduction in waste

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 3 GCSE’s at grade C or above to include English and Maths
  • NVQ level 3 in Customer Service or equivalent experience

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience in a supply chain environment
  • Experience in Inventory Management
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working within the NHS or other public sector organisation.
  • Use of an electronic stock management system

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Computer literate with experience of using Microsoft software
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate with all levels of an organisation
