Job overview
To undertake a full range of duties working in support of and supervised by registered general nurse, including setting up and working in endoscopy procedure rooms, preparing and handling of equipment, replenishing stock and other general duties. Working in recovery and admission and discharge of patients ensuring optimal care delivery within Endoscopy services to the North Tees and Hartlepool NHS trust.
Our aim is to ensure each and every patient receives the highest quality, evidence based care in a clean and safe environment. In order to do so the post holder must complete and be signed of the local competency pack within a specified time frame.
Main duties of the job
To undertake a full range of duties working in support of and supervised by registered general nurse, including setting up and working in endoscopy procedure rooms, preparing and handling of equipment, replenishing stock and other general duties. Working in recovery and admission and discharge of patients ensuring optimal care delivery within Endoscopy services to the North Tees and Hartlepool NHS trust.

Excellent communication skills. Ability to perform under pressure and utilize own initiative.
Work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
To work alongside registered nurse and to escalate patient care when required in a safe and timely manner.
To work in all areas of the Endoscopy unit from procedure rooms, recovery and admission and discharge.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NVQ2 in Health Care or equivalent literacy and numeracy grade C or above.
Desirable criteria
- NVQ3 in Health Care or equivalent previous in a health care setting.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in health care setting.
Desirable criteria
- Endoscopy experience.
Skills/ apptitudes
Essential criteria
- Excellent communication skills. Ability to work on own initiative.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of dealing with members of the public. Able to problem solve creative thinker.
Disposition
Essential criteria
- Flexibility-able to cope with different work environments. Ability to work under pressure/meet tight deadlines whilst delivering high quality work.
Desirable criteria
- Awareness of trust aims flexible to need of unit and eager to learn.
