University Hospital of North Tees Pharmacy Department is seeking a Principal Pharmacy Technician (Stores & Procurement) to lead a skilled team in delivering a safe, efficient, and high-quality medicines supply service.

Main duties of the job
What you'll do:
- Lead and manage pharmacy technicians and assistants.

- Utilise automated dispensing technology to enhance operations.
- Develop leadership skills and drive service improvements.

- GPhC-registered Pharmacy Technician
- Accuracy Checking Qualification

Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant experience working in a hospital pharmacy setting
- Experience of computerised stock control
- Experience of staff management in a hospital pharmacy environment
- Project management experience
- Experience working as a member of multidisciplinary teams
Skills
Essential criteria
- Ability to reliably check, input and record data and to identify discrepancies
- Good working knowledge of Windows based systems, and capable of using Microsoft Office application
- Focused on patient care and the efficient and effective service delivery
- Ability to communicate effectively, have a logical approach to problem solving and to form and maintain good working relationships
Desirable criteria
- Well-developed customer relations skills
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC
- Completed accuracy checking qualification or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Management qualification or relevant experience of managing staff
- Knowledge of EMIS Ascribe dispensing system
Applicant requirements
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
