An excellent opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced registered mental health professional to manage one of our busy CAMHS teams in York.

The successful candidate, with the support of their leadership team, will improve the lives of people with mental ill health by minimising the impact of their condition through effective leadership, management and service development to enable the delivery of excellent services to promote recovery and well-being for all service users.

The team has a mental health and neurodevelopmental pathway, both of which aim to meet the needs of the local population who present with mental health needs or require neurodevelopmental assessment and treatment . The team provide assessment and intervention for people who have mild through to severe and enduring needs. 

The successful candidate will join a well established senior leadership team and will have operational and clinical oversight of the neurodevelopmental pathway, alongside the opportunity to work alongside a fellow Team Manager. 

Whilst this is advertised as a permanent position, we would also consider the role as a 12 month secondment opportunity. Candidates would need agreement from their current line manager, and due to permanent funding available could be converted if desired. 

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering excellent mental health services and can support and enable the team to achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities will include supervision and appraisal for the team, performance, recruitment and management of staff, ensuring that people have timely access to our services and receive treatment in line with our pathways.

You will need to have excellent relationship building and engagement skills and be capable of managing varied work demands based on the changing needs of the service.

You will understand and embrace the challenge of delivering a service which is both high in quality, efficient and sustainable.

To be professionally accountable and responsible for the delivery of the clinical service by the community team.

To be responsible for the operational management of the team. To lead practice development and service development initiatives to ensure continual quality improvement as an integral part of the Trust's Quality Improvement System.
