Job overview
Come and join our friendly, experienced dietetic team. Applications are invited from motivated BSc qualified and HCPC registered dietitians who are keen to advance their skills in diabetes. You will be an excellent communicator, able to work independently and in a team, as well as being organised, efficient and confident.
We would welcome applications from candidates with a keen interest in developing skills in both adult and paediatric diabetes care. These skills will include carbohydrate counting and hybrid closed loop insulin pump theapy. We are a thriving, diverse dietetic team covering two acute hospital sites in Eastbourne and Hastings and you will have the opportunity to work with our highly specialist diabetes teams in both adults and paediatrics. There is also pastoral care support available to aid your smooth transition into living in East Sussex and working for ESHT.
We offer regular supervision and training opportunities for ongoing professional development, along with improving patient care. Where identified in your appraisal and in line with service development we also have access to post graduate university funding for individual MSc modules.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a varied caseload and you will receive support from the lead diabetes dietitians to develop the necessary skills. You will also be able to access supervision and support from our wider department of over 40 clinicians and support staff, covering specialities of paediatrics, diabetes, inpatients, acute rehabilitation, general outpatients and community nutrition support. The department is also supported by Primary Care Network dietitians, prescribing support dietitians and trainee advanced clinical practice dietitians.

- 4 year degree in Dietetics or equivalent Current State Registration with Health Professional Council
- Evidence of further postgraduate experience in specialist area

- Postgraduate training in behavioural change/ motivational interviewing techniques

- Previous experience of working within NHS environment as a dietitian
- Experience of outpatient clinics
- Undertaking new patient assessment and treatment
