Job overview

Join our Facilities team and play a key role in creating clean, safe, and welcoming environments that support outstanding patient care. As a Facilities Assistant, you will maintain, clean, sanitize, replenish, support, and deliver essential services across wards, departments, health centres, and community hubs.

You will operate cleaning equipment, manage waste safely, restock supplies, prepare service areas, and uphold strict infection prevention and health and safety standards. 

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate reliability, communicate effectively, work as part of a team, prioritise quality, and take pride in delivering high standards of service. Main duties of the job

a) Clean all surfaces using appropriate methods to remove dust and debris. 
b) Clean all hard floors and mop daily. 
c) Use of electrical cleaning equipment. 
d) Empty, clean and replenish waste bins. 
e) Seal waste bags and carry out appropriate waste disposal procedures. 
f) Replenish consumables – paper towels, soap, toilet rolls etc. 
g) Adopt a flexible approach, as you may be required to work at any Trust site. 
h) Ensure the correct storage of all items. 
i) Collect and clean all crockery and cutlery and kitchen utensils as required using automatic dishwashers where available. 
j)Collect, wash and return water jugs. 
k) Collect and replace soiled linen. 
l) Collection and delivery of goods. 
m) Collection and delivery of medical gas cylinders. 
n) To issue and collate inpatient menus. 
o) Transportation of patients between wards and departments, if required on an occasional ad hoc basis. 
p) To prepare and serve food and beverages as required. 
q) To ensure security is maintained at all times. 
r) Completion of departmental paperwork as required.  
s) Assist with the service of patient, visitors and staff meals. 
t) Provide the appropriate amount of crockery and cutlery in advance of service times. 
u) Ensure that food presentation, portion control, temperature and quality standards are adhered to.
