Job overview
A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic Clinical Support Worker to join the Diagnostic Imaging Team at Bognor War Memorial Hospital. The post involves supporting the Radiographers and maintaining departmental workflow on a daily basis, preparing and assisting patients in advance of their X-ray or Ultrasound clinics and chaperoning patients during a range of examinations. Patient care and maintaining dignity and privacy is essential part of this role so experience in a previous healthcare setting is essential
The post will also involve administration duties when required assisting at the imaging reception desk, making appointment bookings and dealing with patient enquires
Daily and weekly duties include ensuring that the rooms are prepared for examination and cleaned after use, keeping cleaning records and maintaining and ordering clinical supplies to ensure availability and suitability of stock at all times.
Training will be provided for the essential IT Radiology and ordering systems used regularly in department - good computer skills will be essential

Main duties of the job
To support the Radiographers and administrative staff in the execution of their daily duties by maintaining the workflow in the department. To prepare and assist patients in changing for their examination. To correctly identify patients and ensure that they are ready in timely manner in advance of their examination observing patient dignity and privacy.
To chaperone the patients during ultrasound examinations with Consultants and Sonographers. To correctly identify the patients and ensure they are ready in advance of their examination. To assist the patient during the examination as required ensuring dignity at all times.
To ensure that the X-ray and Ultrasound rooms are prepared for use before each examination including cleanliness of patient areas and equipment, documenting daily.
To monitor clinical supplies regularly and to order replacements to ensure that stock levels are adequately maintained. To place orders as requested by Imaging administration and clinical staff and Imaging Manager. To escalate issues regarding stock to suppliers and purchasing. To raise purchase orders for the department.
To assist the administrative team in registering and booking patients onto the CRIS/Clear Flow system on the imaging reception desk. To deal with enquires and bookings on the telephone.

Qualifications and/or Professional Registration
Essential criteria
- Education to GSCE level including maths and English or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Relevant additional qualifications- for example – First Aid
Experience

- Working within the Hospital environment

- Secretarial/administration skills
