The Breast Imaging Department is based at The Park Centre for Breast Care (PCBC) in Brighton Preston Park area which is 3 miles away from the Royal Sussex County Hospital (RSCH) site in Brighton and 13 miles from the Princess Royal Hospital (PRH) site in Haywards Heath.
Our friendly team consists of radiologists, breast care clinician, screening nurse, senior radiographers, assistant practitioners, radiographic and health care assistants.
We are committed to putting patient care first and we are looking for dedicated professionals who share our values and our passion for delivering quality care. The successful candidates will be expected to have excellent practical imaging skills with the ability to work accurately under pressure and to work well as part of a team. Good communication and customer care skills are vital together with attitude reflecting BSUH NHS Trust Values.
As part of BSUH NHS Trust, the region’s leading teaching hospital, this service provides routine Breast Screening for 131,000 women across Brighton, Hove and East Sussex as part of the National Health Service Breast Screening Program. It also provides a full breast imaging service supporting the breast surgical and outpatient teams at PCBC and PRH.
The majority of the routine screening is undertaken on our three mobile breast screening vans equipped with digital GE Essential mammography equipment. Our screening sites are Brighton, Eastbourne, Seaford, Lewes, Hailsham, Crowborough, Battle, Newhaven, Rye, Uckfield, Hastings, Bexhill and Heathfield.
We are looking forward to the arrival of new equipment this year, and would welcome new team members to help us provide both Symptomatic and NHSBSP services for the women of Brighton, Hove and East Sussex.
PCBC has three mammography rooms with digital GE equipment including a stereo-tactic device and a Bard Encor vacuum assisted biopsy device. There are three ultrasound clinic rooms with Toshiba Aplio 500 ultrasound machines. PRH is equipped with one digital GE Essential mammography unit and one ultrasound clinic room with GE ultrasound machine. A valid driving license with access to a car is essential to access mobile screening sites.
The standard working day is between 08.30 and 17:00 Monday to Friday. There are the occasional early, late and Saturday shifts by arrangement. Candidates will be expected to participate in flexible working patterns by arrangement.
The service is committed to continuing professional development for all staff and actively encourages involvement in training and audit. Candidates must be IT literate.
This role attracts a short term Recruitment and Retention Premium £2,000 per annum.
