Job overview

We are offering a unique and exciting opportunity to establish and lead a Radiographer-Led Cardiac CT Service within our Imaging Department. This senior role is ideal for an experienced and passionate Radiographer with a strong background in cardiac CT, NHS experience, and proven leadership in clinical practice.

You will be at the forefront of developing and managing the newly formed Radiographer-Led Cardiac CT service, ensuring the highest standards of care and clinical excellence. Working closely with our Cardiothoracic Radiologists, Cardiologists, and fellow service Superintendents, you will take the lead on service delivery, radiographer training, and protocol development.

Main duties of the job

Based at the Royal Sussex County Hospital (RSCH) and the Princess Royal Hospital (PRH), you will oversee operations across eight CT scanners (including Siemens X.ceed, Siemens Drive, Aquilion One Prism, GE Revolution, and Canon Prime SP). Cardiac CT scanning is currently performed on the Aquilion One Prism and GE Rev systems.

In addition to your specialist cardiac role, you will be one of five operational Superintendent Radiographers, responsible for the day-to-day management of the CT service and will hold line management duties within the department.

As part of this role, you will be trained in the administration of cardiac medications and ECG interpretation, enabling independent scanning of a broad patient cohort. You will also benefit from working in our state-of-the-art Imaging facility in the Louisa Martindale Building, which opened in May 2023.

This position offers a career-defining opportunity to expand your clinical, operational, and leadership expertise in a forward-thinking and supportive environment.
