You will be responsible for managing and delivering a highly comprehensive, confidential and expert legal coordination service to the Medico-legal Services Department, including management of non-clinical claims (own caseload) against the Trust and management of non-complex clinical negligence claims, and non-contentious inquests. This will include central co-ordination responsibilities and using own judgement to take forward urgent matters.

The workload is varied and unpredictable with frequent interruptions and changes of priority.

You will also fully investigate all potential Personal Injury claims to identify litigation risks and work with staff to provide support, advice in relation to processes and work with staff to change practice in order to minimise future litigation risks.

Main duties of the job
