Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit an exceptional administrator to join our Workforce Services Team based at St Richards Hospital.

We are looking for an experienced administrator to join our friendly workforce services team at St. Richards Hospital in Chichester. To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate great customer service, possess good general IT skills and be capable of completing work accurately. Full on-job training is provided, and staff benefit from a generous leave entitlement, pension and other NHS benefits.

The Workforce Services team are responsible for maintaining our HR system with accurate staff information and providing support to managers and staff regarding employee records. The team also provide administrative services relating to reference requests and other HR processes for example changes to terms and conditions, leavers, starters, and promotions.

The role is based in our office at St Richards Hospital offering a flexible rota pattern, there is a need for one of the working days to be Friday.

Main duties of the job

The Workforce Services Team are responsible for processing all internal staff changes such as Maternity/Paternity Applications, leavers and joiners, changes of contracts etc. and also support users of the Employee Staff Record (ESR) Self Service system. We also provide employment references, process DBS checks and confirmation of employment letters.

The role is wide and varied supporting all non-medical staff and managers within the Trust and will give the successful applicant extensive knowledge and skill in the use of the national ESR system, understanding of the national Agenda for Change (AfC) terms and conditions and service, exposure to pensions and retirement rules for AfC staff and training in the management of ESR Self Service accounts. This list is not exhaustive and the role provides plenty of variety.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Using tact and persuasive skills when providing day to day advice and guidance to managers and staff, both verbally and in writing, regarding contractual changes, processes and deadlines, together with general issues such as Contracts, Terms and Conditions, Maternity & Paternity
