Job overview

We have an opportunity for 2 part time positions within our department - 24 hrs and 13.5 hrs, details of shift pattern to be discussed.

The Equipment Library provides an equipment loan service to the Trust, ensuring that equipment is clean and safe to use. The role involves the cleaning & checking of equipment, loaning & retrieving equipment around the hospital site and equipment data entry to allow tracking of loan equipment - training will be given within the department.

The Equipment Library is staffed 07:00 - 18:00 weekdays, 08:00 - 13:00 weekends & Bank Holidays.

Main duties of the job

Communicate all relevant information within the team to ensure the continual & efficient provision of the Equipment Library service Communicate & liaise between Equipment Library personnel, users of the Equipment Library service and other Healthcare staff in a polite & helpful manner Attend & actively participate in the EL team meetings

Work as part of a cohesive team & liaise with the other relevant Healthcare staff in a professional manner at all times eg. decontamination, infection control, tissue viability, portering services etc.

 Provision of the Equipment Library loan service – answering telephone calls
Deal with ward queries regarding loan equipment
Visit ward areas loaning and retrieving equipment
Work closely with Senior Staff to build and develop effective relationships with Ward/Department Managers and staff to provide an efficient equipment loan service on site
Notify service users of equipment shortages
Contribute at daily PFIS huddles
Contribute at monthly EL Team meetings
Provide advice and technical support to wards/clinical/areas on Equipment Library loan equipment eg. pressure relieving mattresses, falls sensor  equipment
