Job overview

We are seeking a consultant to support the Department of Ear Nose and Throat in East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust in undertaking Thyroid surgery as part of a multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will lead on specific duties for ENT as part of the development of a multi-disciplinary team approach to care within the speciality. Applications welcome particularly within sub-speciality of Parathyroid/Thyroid Surgery.

Main duties of the job

·       1 full day theatre per week (ENT/Head and Neck)

·       1 full day clinic per week.(ENT/Head and Neck)

·       Associated SPA/Admin.

·       Fortnightly MDT (Parathyroid MDT -Head and Neck )

·       On call via General Surgery maternity cover(General Surgery)

Qualifications & Registration

Essential criteria
  • MB BS or equivalent
  • Full Registration with GMC with a licence to practise
Desirable criteria
  • MD or equivalent
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register for Endocrine Surgery at the time of interview or to have obtained CCT within 6 months of interview date.

Training & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Comprehensive clinical experience in general surgery and endocrine surgical pathways
