Job overview

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join us at East Sussex NHS Trust to drive, champion, and defend gold standard care for people with Type 1 Diabetes. The post-holder will provide clinical, strategic, and professional leadership for Diabetes and Endocrinology nursing, ensuring that the care delivered to all our patients is safe, effective, caring, well-led and responsive both now and in the future. The post-holder will be a source of expertise and operate with a high degree of autonomy whilst also working closely and collaboratively with senior medical colleague

The patient will be at the centre of everything you do. You will lead well-established, supportive, and collaborative multi-disciplinary teams dedicated to ensuring high quality care of people with Diabetes at ESHT. You will be responsible for the professional leadership of the Diabetes and Endocrinology nursing workforce, and demonstrating a supportive, person-centred, and motivational approach with a 'can-do' attitude.

There are four domains to the job are: Advanced Clinical Practitioner level or expert level practice of care of people with Diabetes, Consultancy and leadership, Development and provision of education and training Research, audit, service development & improvement

 

Main duties of the job

To lead, manage and continue to develop at the forefront of innovative diabetes specialist practice, inspiring colleagues to implement such practice and service developments.

To work with colleagues to implement the East Sussex better Together integrated diabetes service. To promote and develop robust partnership working to ensure true integrated care across the CCGs.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse/Professional and hold active registration with relevant Professional body
  • Masters level qualification relevant to role
  • Post Graduate qualification at Masters level in advanced clinical practice, relevant to role to demonstrate specialist clinical and leadership skills
  • Evidence of mandatory and statutory essential training skills, and additional job specific advanced level skills/procedures relevant to role
  • Managerial or Leadership qualification
  • Education/Training qualification
  • Research/Audit Training
Desirable criteria
  • Project management/Quality improvement qualification
  • Restorative supervision/Professional Nurse Advocate qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Proven experience in area of expert professional knowledge and skills
