Job overview

Richard Ticehurst SAU is a busy 30 bedded surgical admissions unit which also incorporates a SSDEC (same day assessment area) and is aligned to a SACC (same day ambulatory clinic) We are looking for an enthusiastic, polite and professional  person to join our team, as a ward clerk.

The team on the Unit is both friendly and supportive, with a strong commitment to providing a high standard of care. 

Full time hours with some weekend working.

 

Main duties of the job

Duties will include, admitting and discharging patients, answering the telephone, maintaining clinic bookings, filing,  working alongside the MDT

Desirable Qualities:

  • A good communicator and enjoy meeting people.
  • Possess a polite and caring manner.
  • Have a good sense of humour.
  • Able to prioritise own workload.
  • If you are computer literate, PAS/IFIT/Evolve/ Nervecentre Keyboard skills an advantage, but training will be given
  • Previous NHS

  • Good general education including English and Maths GCSE grade C or above, or equivalent level of knowledge and experience

Experience

  • Previous clinical/administration experience in a busy environment
