Job overview
University Hospitals Sussex is looking for a skilled and dedicated senior leader to join the pharmacy department as Deputy Operational Lead Pharmacy Technician at the Princess Royal Hospital (PRH). As a key driver of innovation and quality, the post holder will deputise for the Operational Lead Pharmacy Technician and lead a team of dedicated pharmacy technicians and assistants whilst providing excellent patient care and guidance across the Princess Royal Hospital. You will work closely with your counterparts at other sites with the aim of reaching a unified goal for the department and wider organisation.
Main duties of the job
- To organise and develop the day to day running of both the technician led medicines optimisation service to all wards and the patient services provided by the dispensary at PRH.
- To support and assist the Operational Lead Pharmacy Technician in the delivery, organisation, management and reporting of a safe and effective pharmacy service.
- To support the Operational Lead Pharmacy Technician in managing dispensary and ward based technical staff.
- Lead a seamless Medicines Optimisation service across the hospital, utilising, where necessary all relevant parties, liaising with service users to ensure service is congruent with current needs.
- To assist the Responsible Person to prepare for inspections by the MHRA, produce and complete action plans in response to any issues identified.
