An opportunity has arisen for experienced Registered Nurses to join our friendly, established nursing and medical team working flexibly via our Bank within the Unit at Lewes Urgent Treatment Centre
Our Urgent Treatment Centre provides urgent and unscheduled care 08:00-20:00hrs 7 days a week for the Lewes population and surrounding communities.
Main duties of the job
Working in the Urgent Treatment Centre, you will Triage assess and prioritise patients presenting to the unit whilst ensuring safe, efficient, and effective treatment of all patients within a predefined target time of arrival.
You will demonstrate a calm and confident approach to your work demonstrating excellent nursing and communication skills and the ability to manage and prioritise workloads effectively.

Qualifications and/or professional registration
Essential criteria
- Completed and obtained RN and has current live PIN on NMC register
- Triage/First Contact Module
Desirable criteria
- Physical Assessment of Adults
Experience
Essential criteria
- Post qualifying experience in an acute environment.
- Experience in critical care/emergency care.
- Evidence of developing interpersonal skills
- Experience in supervision of student nurses/allied health professionals.
- Caring for ill people in a variety of settings.
- Triage / patient physical assessment skills.
Skills and knowledge
Essential criteria
- Evidence of understanding and insight into current issues in nursing and NHS
- Evidence of appropriate knowledge base.
- Aware of responsibilities in relation to NMC Professional Code of Conduct
- Good communication skills
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Managing patients with acute conditions
- Wound management and dressings.
- Able to record ECG’s.
- Competent in recording and interpreting physical vital signs.
- Basic Life support
Desirable criteria
- IT literate
- Application of Plaster of Paris
- Cannulation
- Experience of Clinical Supervision
